چکیده

The use of toxic and less bioavailable inorganic selenium can now be supplemented with an alternative organic source from bacterial species in nutrition for human animal benefit. This study investigated the effects sources on laying performance, egg quality characteristics, intestinal morphology, caecum microbial population, digesta volatile fatty acids hens. One hundred forty-four Lohman Brown Classic hens, at 23 weeks age, were divided into four experimental groups (36 hens each), differing form Se supplementation: no supplementation (Con), 0.3 mg/kg sodium selenite (Na2SeO3), yeast (Se-Yeast), Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (bacterial Se, ADS18). results showed that different dietary significantly affected rate, average weight, daily mass, feed conversion ratio (FCR), live bodyweight (LBW) (p < 0.05). However, intake shell-less broken eggs unaffected > 0.05) among treatment groups. findings revealed had effect (external internal) parameters. eggshell breaking strength Haugh unit improved (ADS18 or Se-yeast) Se-fed compared to control group. Effects of laying hens housing system on laying performance, egg quality characteristics, and egg microbial contamination

The objective of this study was to compare the performance, egg quality, and microbial contamination of egg shells from hens maintained in different housing systems, such as conventional and enriched cages, litter, and aviaries. The housing system significantly (P < 0.001) influenced the performance characteristics. The highest egg production, lowest daily feed consumption, and feed conversion ...

Effect of Supplementation of Organic Acids on Laying Performance, Body Fatness and Egg Quality of Hens

The study was conducted to determine the effect of organic acids supplementation on body weight changes, feed intake, feed efficiency, egg production, egg weight and egg quality in laying hens at age between 67 and 74 weeks. A total of 48 Shaver 579 laying hens of 67 weeks age were allotted into 4 groups, each containing 12 hens. The hens were fed basal diet (17% CP and 2800 kcal ME/kg diet) su...

Effect of dietary protein sources on production performance, egg quality, and plasma parameters of laying hens

OBJECTIVE This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary protein sources (soybean meal, SBM; low-gossypol cottonseed meal, LCSM; double-zero rapeseed meal, DRM) on laying performance, egg quality, and plasma parameters of laying hens. METHODS A total of 432 32-wk-old laying hens were randomly divided into 6 treatments with 6 replicates of 12 birds each. The birds were fed diets c...

Comparative effects of inorganic and organic selenium sources on performance, eggshell quality and egg selenium content of laying hens

A total of 150 Hy-Line W-36 laying hens at 38 week of age were randomly assigned into 5 dietary treatments and 3 replicates each with 10 birds. Hens were fed diets including: low-selenium diet without selenium supplementation (basal diet), basal diet plus 0.3 ppm Na-selenite, or basal diet plus 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 ppm Sel-Plex. The hens performance, eggshell quality and egg selenium content were e...

Nano-calcium carbonate: Effect on performance traits and egg quality in laying hens

A ten-week trial was carried out to determine the effect of different levels of nano-calcium carbonate (NCC) on egg production performance and egg quality. A completely randomized experiment was designed comprising 6 treatments, each with 4 replicates of 5 hens. Groups 1 and 2 were fed diets containing 8.06% and 6.045% calcium carbonate (CC) as positive and negative control respectively. Groups...
